Anyone else struggle with decorating in that winter window of time after Christmas decorations come down? Too early to break out the spring stuff, but I’m SO over holiday decorations and ready for something fresh and clean.

Post-Christmas Front Porch
Quick and easy winter refresh! I didn’t want to spend a lot and my goal was to keep the pieces versatile.
I grabbed an evergreen bush from a local nursey. I wanted something with height and appropriate for the winter season, but that didn’t look like a Christmas tree!
THESE lanterns are new from Target. They’ll be great staples to work in to lots of seasons and use inside or outside. (Large lantern HERE and smaller one HERE) I stuck a few of THESE flameless candles inside and set the timer to come on each evening.
I still wanted more texture and color, so I used an old basket (I got it HERE) and filled with eucalyptus swags I picked up at Trader Joe’s. You can’t beat their prices on live plants and flowers, and it will dry nicely.
The wreath is also new from Target from the Threshold with Studio McGee collection (which I LOVE and obviously need all of!). I have a whole post with my Studio McGee favorites HERE!
The doormat is oversized from Target. I got it last year, but they still have it! I added THIS outdoor rug underneath. I have the 2’7″x4’11” size and it’s 60% off right now! I’ll likely use both of these through spring and fall too. (I had THIS rug with the same doormat last year and loved it too! It stayed unrolled much nicer and is a perfect size.)
More Ideas
A few more ideas! I got a set of house-shaped log holders that are now sold-out but I really love them. Right now they are filled with birch logs and greenery, but there are so many possibilities year-round! I found another great option that I’ll share below. Plus, I love this Come In and Cozy Up doormat…perfect for the rest of the cold winter months.
A few more ideas to share for a cozy and fresh winter front porch:
- Faux Boxwood
- Black Metal Lantern
- Seagrass Basket
- Galvanized Metal Baskets
- House Shaped Log Holder
- Lovers Knot Door Mat
- Indoor/Outdoor Plaid Rug
It feels great to have a fresh start to the year! I hope you love these as much as I do!
XO, Kelli
